A framework that changed under criticism
How the Framework Changed
These changes are documented in the project’s sources. The order follows recorded versions where available. Exact adoption dates are not available for every decision. Older model files sometimes recommend rules that the current Charter later changed.
16 September 2026: readability and open-questions follow-up
This follow-up separates the homepage explanation from the logo typography, makes the mobile menu compact, adds six unresolved questions, repairs citation fallback and current-paper links, and clarifies publication history. It also narrows the cooperation claim and sets expectations for correspondence. The Charter, adopted parameters, paper 1.2 text, numerical results and fixed release files are unchanged.
16 September 2026: positioning and citation patch
Website release 11 clarifies the limited contribution claim, acknowledges additional related work and makes ordinary questions and suggestions the main contact route. Paper 1.0 was published on 14 September, paper 1.1 on 15 September, and paper 1.2 on 16 September. The preserved 1.2 manuscript retains its earlier publication-line wording; the paper reader explains the edition history. Earlier paper editions remain available. It adds visible publication dates. The homepage and origin voice, design, Charter v1.2.2, numerical results, testing caveats and paper AI disclosure remain unchanged.
15 September 2026: public explanation and paper 1.1
Website release 10 changes the public explanation and navigation. The origin story and AI-production disclosure are more direct. Paper 1.1 adds three relevant prior works, a more modest contribution claim and fuller production disclosures. It preserves the numerical argument. No new simulation campaign was run for this edition. Charter v1.2.2 remains unchanged.
Working paper 1.0 · 14 September 2026
The full scholarly working paper supersedes the earlier concise overview. This publication adds no constitutional amendment. Website release 9 makes reading modes independently readable, updates the opening message and origin account, and integrates the approved logo animation.
v1.2.2 · Publication & Advancement Clarification
Lead with the future worth building.
This edition makes complementary capability, partnership, discovery, prosperity and exploration the public starting point. It separates narrow mechanism tests from conditional civilization models, discloses AI assistance and adds the multidisciplinary agenda and canonical paper draft. It changes no constitutional provision or working threshold.
The source comparison found only edition/front-matter differences in the Constitutional Draft. Separate reporting errors—fourth versus second place, reduced-form sample labels and mixed citation editions—are flagged in the source-conflict record.

From rank sums to head-to-head comparison
Adding similar candidates could change the rank-sum result in unwanted ways. The project moved to direct comparisons between candidates.
Current position and source trail
Use the Charter’s equal-weighted comparisons. Schulze/Beatpath is the working method for majority cycles.

Low-turnout rules reopened
A small, unusually motivated set of voters could distort a population’s signal. Simple turnout thresholds or scaling did not consistently solve that problem.
Current position and source trail
Use independent impairment review and exceptional certification of the apparent winner, not a standing turnout staircase.

Voting remains voluntary
Compulsory ballot return was judged too broad a response to low-participation concerns.
Current position and source trail
Voting is voluntary. Exceptional impaired-election procedures supply a narrow backstop.

A narrow response to impaired elections
The system needed a way to respond to a seriously impaired election without letting Congress choose its preferred candidate.
Current position and source trail
Only the apparent winner may be certified, by two-thirds of the full House and the protected Senate threshold. Failure leads to another election.

Unanimity can miss real persons
Requiring almost everyone on a panel to agree produced many more missed persons in the assumed-error tests.
Current position and source trail
The working rule is 12 of 15, with independent panels and a third when the first two disagree. Diverse theories and evidence pipelines matter.

Seven guardians can share one weakness
A recovery system looked less secure when its guardians could be compromised together. Counting guardians was not enough.
Current position and source trail
The working 4-of-7 arrangement requires materially independent guardians and separated authority. Exact engineering remains deferred.

Count everyone created unlawfully together
Splitting provenance into separate groups could evade a limit applied to each group alone.
Current position and source trail
People created unlawfully may occupy no more than 30% of the active synthetic electorate in total. Admitting them cannot take away or delay opportunities for lawful creation.

Repeated updates can gradually change a mind more than any single update reveals.

Look for underrepresentation too
The original alarm could catch small populations with too much power but miss large populations with too little.

Shared government needs shared capability
Political institutions alone do not ensure that people can work together or keep each other’s essential systems running.

Functional Integration is one of five doctrines, now centered on complementary capability and redundant competence.

The survivor is a trustee
Normal two-population government cannot operate unchanged when one population is absent. Restoration also needs a fair way to return power.
Current position and source trail
Preserve the absent population’s rights. Return institutions in stages when restored, mature persons can operate them independently; historical population percentage is not the test.

v1.2.1 · September 2026
Combine strengths. Preserve choice.
The wording needed to make useful cooperation central and rule out forced private integration or fixed species roles.
Current position and source trail
Government may set relevant standards for essential systems. It may not assign friends, families, occupations or symbolic species pairings.

One current public name
Older archives use The Continuity Compact and The Eternum Charter. These are historical names within this project’s files.
Current position and source trail
The current project is Project Enduring Pulse. A separate contemporary work with a similar historical title is not a PULSE edition.

Website release 9 · 14 September 2026
Added guided introductions, connected explanations, problem walkthroughs, inspectable model results and tools for criticism and citation. The Charter did not change.
Website release 6 · 14 September 2026
Added a remembered choice between Plain English and Technical wording, with both tied to shared concepts. Added explanations beside the unchanged Constitution.
Website release 5 · 14 September 2026
The owner confirmed that sending, receiving and forwarding to a monitored inbox worked. Mailbox setup notices were removed. The only contact remains review@enduringpulse.org.
Website release 4 · 14 September 2026
This release prepared contact details and the website domain. Email delivery had not yet been confirmed. Later releases record the confirmed current contact details.
Website release 3 · 14 September 2026
Restored the long-term research files and reproduced their results. Corrected the six fourth-place results, clarified what the condensed model counts, added code, data and report corrections, and prepared enduringpulse.org and project email. The then-current v1.2.1 Charter wording stayed unchanged. This release established the public domain and contact infrastructure.
Website release 2 · historical
Added source checks with stated limits, links to individual constitutional sections, dated PDFs and file fingerprints. Statements about missing files and contact details described what was known then and were replaced by release 3. The old source snapshot and download index were withdrawn to remove obsolete account-identifying references. Other historical files keep their original fingerprints.
